#T5W: Hidden Gems (favourite books that need more hype)

Hello Peaches! It is Wednesday again. I skipped last week’s as I was too busy, but I am back on it now. This week’s topic is “ Hidden Gems in Your Favorite Genre ~ What are some of your favorite books in your favorite genre that don’t get a lot of hype?”

As far as I am aware, these book did not get a lot of hype:

70945691. Feed by Mira Grant. I cannot begin to say how much I loved this book when I read it last year! The story is packed with action and zombie killings. The characters are incredibly well shaped up and the plot was extremely intriguing. I was not bored for one single minute. When it wasn’t a lot of action, the plot was moving forward as the characters tried to make sense of the mystery of some strange happenings. The book was great, but I do not understand for the life of me why it does not get more hype! It’s well written and engaging, so why not?

Ok, so we have witches, warlocks, curses and a main character in a quest to find out who she is in a world she does not recognise anymore. The characters, for me, had depth and I thoroughly  enjoyed following them.  So why aren’t people talking about this book?

3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Not sure if the series had a lot of hype when it was published, but now there are not many bookworms talking about one of my favourite series. What happened here?

I am surprised that it does not get as much hype as the more recent works for Kendare, because this duology was amazing! I don’e need to know more than this!! “Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.” (goodreads)

PSX_20171118_101010.jpg5. Bird Box by Josh Malerman. I totally loved this book. It is creepy, eerie and suspenseful. thoroughly enjoyed reading this and I am game for following Malerman’s writing because if he continues writing like this… oh man! Have you read this? Do you get where I am coming from? This book may not be on everyone’s tastes, but it’s worth it. Also… floppy paperback!

Have you read any of these? Do you agree with me? Which books do you think need more hype?

xoxo
