Maybe TBR ~ March edition

Hello bookworms! It is Friday today and I am looking forward to start getting some planning done this weekend in my bujo; as my husband says: prior planning prevents poor performance. The March Maybe TBR needs a little bit of planning to get it accomplished because I want to read some of the books ASAP because the movies are coming out. Do you do that? Read the books before the movie is out or you’re not bothered?

THE LIST

img_20180304_105138_011.jpg

I will start with GEMINA because I already finished reading this one and I totally recommend it (but more in a book review or wrap-up). I read this in 3 days as it is pretty thick, but wanted to get to it prior to the release of OBSIDIO next week.

Last night I started reading RED SPARROW, again, because I want to watch the movie soon. I only read 30 pages so I do not have much of an opinion, so far it’s ok, but a little harder to read for me.

ARTEMIS I started reading in February but haven’t continued since because the above books happened. Same with SHADOWS OF THE SAVERNAKE that I started back in January; with this one I am almost half-way and enjoying it.

THE CRUEL PRINCE reading has to happen soon as it was the January Fairyloot book and everyone has read it, and I want to get to it so I can form an opinion on it for myself. The cover reveal for the sequel has happened and it looks amazing, doesn’t it? The release for it is in 2019. Fingers crossed that I’ll like Cruel Prince.

And last, but not least, THESE LIES THAT LIVE BETWEEN US which I have received for review consideration! Thank you Kai for sending this to me. I am looking forward to read it as it sounds super interesting… twins, forbidden magic, enemies… all the good stuff!

What are you planning to read this March? Any recommendations? Please let me know in the comment box below what you think of my list and if you are as excited as I am for the release of OBSIDIO!!!!

My awesome December TBR!

It is December and I cannot believe it! I do not know when time passed by because I am so not prepared for Christmas. What I am prepared for is being off work since the 14th of December! YASSS!!

And because I am never shy of taking loads of projects on and adding more hobbies into my life, December it will be a fully creative month and I will attempt to incorporate a lot of awesome stuff for January. I will do a full blog post on this towards the end of December as it will make a lot mores sense then.

So without further ado, my December TBR (🥁🥁🥁):

IMG_20171201_213730_149.jpg

So the first book that I wanted to read was A monster calls by Patrick Ness and I have already read it and let me tell you guys… IT WAS AMAZING! It gave me all the fells and it was… Ah! Buy it, read it, and thank me later!

I then picked up Harry Potter as I have never read it! Yeah, I know. I only read the last book because I really wanted to know what happened before the last movie. But I am hellbent on setting in right and reading the whole series. I might do mini reviews on each of them as I see them as an adult. Would you want to read that?

And because I like reading more than one book at a time, I have also picked up Twelve Days of Christmas and so far I am liking it. I only read like 20 pages so nothing is quite happening yet, but I am looking forward to read more. I love my some Xmas romance!

Next I know I will pick Murder on the Orient Express as I have read this book more than 10 years ago and I am looking forward to read it again. I never read it in English so that will definitely be interesting. I saw the movie and totally loved it. I obviously knew the ending, but I loved everything in between the the characters were very well portrayed.

I have a lot of romance novels set during Christmas time because if now now, when? I love Xmas romance so really looking forward to read them. FYI, I watch and read Xmas romance at any time of the year, but reading it around Xmas makes me feel a little more normal. Lol.

So that’s it on my OFFICIAL TBR! As you guys know I have an unofficial TBR as well which are the books that I pick up to read on a whim because they are fit for my mood. I will upload this weekend my wrap-up as I have read a lot of amazing books this November!

XOXO

Jane!

PS: I recommend you guys grab this candle from Evil Queen as it smells so lush! This is inspired by the Harry Potter series and since I am a Slytherin, this AMBITIOUS candle is perfect! So go, stop wasting time and go! (unless you want to waste time on my blog, you can stay! 😉) www.shopevilqueen.com

November TBR and Mid-November Check-In

Hi guys! It seems to that I am trying to catch-up with things, but I am finally updating you on what I have planned to read this November, but since it is already mid-November I thought it would be a good idea to also update you with where I am with my reading progress as well. I have managed, so far, not to derail and only to read from this list. I kept it a lot shorter, although the books are a lot thicker, and I am still struggling with time as I am working on my Doctorate application so… Like I shouldn’t even be doing this right now, but procrastinating like a boss!

*Does anyone know where I can buy some more time? There aren’t enough hours in the day!*

These amazing hardbacks were featured in the Fairyloot boxes across different months. Aren’t they beautiful?

I am happy to say that I have already read Caraval by Stephenie Garber. I really liked this book, I gave it ⭐⭐⭐⭐. Although it was slow to start, it definitely delivered. I am really looking forward to read Legendary. I am now reading Wicked like a Wildfire by Lana Popovic. This has a similar pacing with a slow burn beginning, but once things pick up they do. I am anticipating this will be another 4 star read, but since I have not finished reading it yet…

I am then thinking of reading either Six of Crows or Percy Jackson. I haven’t yet decided, but I do need a change of pace before jumping into Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett. I have a few more books which are slow-burners in the background that I am hoping to read here and there, but not even I know how much time I will have.

What are you guys reading this month? Do you like whimsical, magical books, or do you prefer fast-paced novels?

In December I am planning to read cute novels, preferably with a Christmas or romantic theme, do you have any recommendations?

Xoxo

Jane.

Finally, July TBR!

0707-2017-0818229199019505976It’s that time again… and I’m late…. but here it is, finally, my July TBR!

*Drums rolling*

The fearless by Emma Pass. I picked this one up because I totally loved the cover. I know, I’m shallow, but look how pretty it is! Anyway, don’t know much about this book, but seems to be the a sort of post-disaster book, maybe with some zombies. Don’t know, but I will find out!

Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns by John Green. I finished reading the Fault in our stars and I loooooooved it! So in the spirit of that, I have added these on as well.

17612776

Lost boys  by Lilian Carmine. This is another handsome book cover (hah!) and the blurb was very interesting, promising an angsty, dark, paranomal romance? Girl meets Ghost? Yeah, right up my alley.

13611052

The night circus by Erin Morgenstern which seems to be about a circus (duh) that arrives in town without warning. This circus is only open at night and it promises, to me at least, some dark and wonderous creatures. Fingers crossed!

33560553

And last but not least, the novelisation of Wonder Woman by Nancy Holder. Oh boy, I could not resist picking that one up! I saw the movie and totally loved it. I am a huge fan of Wonder Woman and I am looking forward to read this whilst imagining Gal Gadot as the character.

This is the official list as I know that unofficially I will be picking more books and reading them because I am a complete and utter bookwhore! There, I said it!

Also, if you keep an eye out I’ll be soon posting a pool so you can choose some of the books I will read next month!

Love,

Jane.
